Far Afield ~ a book review

This book is beautiful! I was so excited to receive this book due to its amazing photography. There are stunning photos of dishes from around the world as well as landscapes, homes, people and much more. There are stories to accompany each segment and mouthwateringly delicious looking recipes  for each country featured. It makes a perfect coffee table book.
I did, however, have a couple of issues with this book. The writing style was very unique and made the stories difficult to follow. It seems to assume prior knowledge that is not given anywhere. It is seemingly written as a journal though, so the author could have been striving to achieve that style, in which case it is pretty well done. I also found some sprinklings of profanities throughout.
Overall, this is a dazzling adventure. As I have mentioned, the photography is STUNNING! I don't know that I would pay the price that the back of the book says the price is, but I do not like to pay a lot for much of anything :)
I recieved this book through the Blogging for Books  program at no cost in exchange for an honest review. All opinions contained and thoughts expressed are entirely my own.
